Here are a few photos taken from the Hogmanay bonfire in Biggar. This bonfire is held every year. The fire building starts around the end of November and by New years eve is huge.

2009, Here we come!

Well, Thats Christmas over for another year with too much turkey, Christmas pudding and beer consumed we now look forward to 2009! The way the global economy is going it doesnt look too good, but this "crisis" should pass and things will return to normal. For me I hope 2009 brings more opertunities to learn about and use photography with the hope of turning it into my career in the very near future. I hope you all have a great new year and all the best for 2009!

Quick video: Loading 35mm film

I found this video on youtube by alexczisny. Its an instructional video on how to load 35mm film into you SLR. Loading film can be awkward, this video gives some usefull tips to ensure you get it right. There is also a great explanation on the diffrent ASA speed ratings of film. Thanks, Ally

Abstract Black and White

I took these back in the late summer/early autumn in my front garden which looks out on to a wheat field. There has been a lot of post processing to achieve this result but I am happy with it. I would appreciate any comments on these photos.

New Kit

I just took delivery of these today. Its a Calumet Genesis 200 2 light kit. Great kit of the money, Each kit contains 2 x 10 foot stands, 2 x 200ws fan cooled strobes and 2 x 46in shoot through or reflector umbrellas. Cant wait to start using it, will post some of the results soon.

Winter Weather

Recently here in Lanarkshire where i live we have had some pretty cold weather, It was the first proper cold period of the year. This is a time of year I love and I feel the cold weather makes everything so beautiful. Here are some of the pics I took when I was out and about.
